Beach in a bottle

My mom likes lighthouses and miniatures, so I made this as one of her Christmas presents.

(I don't have it anymore, obviously, so this is a rough guess....) The box is about 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" on top, and the bottle is about 3/4" long.

It's a lighthouse and boat with paddles on the beach. The paddles are kind of hard to see. (There are also footprints in the sand from the boat to the lighthouse, but you can't really see it here.) The lights on the lighthouse and on the box both glow in the dark.



I added the beads as an after-thought, thinking it would bring out the color of the water, but I think it did just the opposite. I filled that big blank spot on the box with a nice little golden bow. (I hadn't yet put the final finish on the box when these pics were taken.) I almost scrapped this and started all over. I was short on time and decided to try to fix it instead. I thought about adding a seagull or two, but I didn't want to mess it up again.
