DN - The Great Escape by snoday DN - The Great Escape by snoday
It's Misa, Light, and L (and a cupcake) from Death Note trying to escape. (It kinda looks more like a muffin 'cus you can barely see the icing, but it's supposed to be a cupcake.)

This may not make much sense to anyone but me. When I made the last bottle charms I had L in one and Light in the other, but Ryuk was too big, so he couldn't fit in the bottle. So I started thinking "maybe Ryuk trapped them in the bottles! ;D But then, you can't put two geniuses in a bottle together... they're geniuses! Of course they would escape....Unless maybe you distracted L with some sort of dessert...." And thus the idea was born.

I had intended this for a VERY small bottle. (I found some in other shapes and sizes.) All of the individual pieces fit into it, but not once I put them together, 'cus of the way they're situated. I tried finding a bigger bottle, but they didn't have any. I was afraid cramming this into any of the ones I had would break L's head right off. SO, I got one of those bead containers and took some pics in the before cramming him into my biggest bottle, so at least I would have some pics if he broke. He did lose some hair, and they kinda look ridiculous in that bottle, but I guess it could've been worse. (And oops! Light's barefoot....)

Oh, and sorry about the page layout. I was experimenting. I need to find a way to display the pics that looks really good. Any ideas?

Made with: Colored "Bake and Bend" Sculpey, clay rolling pin (yes, I bought one), a bottle charm thingy, a tiny wire, hemp rope, super cheap generic super glue (to keep the ends of the rope from fraying and attach the rope to Misa), a needle

Ohboy, i can totally sympathize with the midterms.. college midterms especially, they're awful.. I'm not looking forward to finals at all. =[

Oh, and L is my favorite, ^_^ but then again.. i think he's most peoples favorite.. =]

Unless you've seen Ouran High School Host Club.. then Honey Sempi.. who is adorable and also likes sweet things.

Sugar addict? I haven't seen it. Maybe I'll have to look into it.

Midterms went really well, and finals start Monday, so I'm preparing over the entire break.

As soon as finals are done (which is getting sooner and sooner) I want to do more sculptures. Can you think of anything else I can sculpt L doing, (other than taking a bath)?

Thanks! I thought I put it in the description. Oh well.

The figure is made from Bend and Bake Sculpey (a.k.a. Rubber Sculpey). I usually use normal colored sculpey (I think it's Sculpey III), but I have to use rubber for these so their hair and such don't break when I stick 'em in the jar.

The drawing was done in photoshop. ;o

Sculpey is just a really soft clay. (In summer our apartment would get like 120-130 degrees, and my Sculpey would actually melt.) The rubber Cculpey is a little more durable, and a bit of a different consistancy. (Rubber Sculpey is a lot harder to wash off your hands, so if you try it, I'd use one of those scrubby things for getting dirt out from under your fingernails.)

What's plastacine like?

well it is really easy to use and sticks together easy and great to wash of your hands but it breaks easily if you make little things. my art teacher makes big models and it is really good with wire in. but it also melts in the heat i put a model on the windowsill and it all meted. It also doesnt go hard do you can fiddle all the time with it

Wow, this is cool! One thing I would like to know though ... how did you make them so small!! I mean they're mini, you'd lose them, or they'd break and stuff ...

Really great idea though! I wouldn't mind owning one myself! :giggle:

Great job!=D

How do I make them? Very carefully.... I use a needle for most things. (I used to use a toothpick, but it just wasn't precise enough.)

The ones in the bottles won't break 'cus I use "rubber clay". (I purposely use that just for these 'cus I don't want them to break when I cram 'em in the bottle. Sometimes they will anyway if they're just plain too big.) The bottles are a little easier to keep track of since you can stick 'em on a necklace or a charm or something. (I just have them sitting on a shelf or in a tupperware container anyway. It's not like I drag them around. Maybe I should to see how durable they are.)

I'm considering selling some of the bottle ones. (Sadly the bottles are less likely to break in shipping than my regular sculpey figures are.)

Oh right cool! I think a durability test is in order! :giggle: If you're planning to sell them you'd have to see if they would survive shipping anyhow! =D
